Executive Internship Program
Earn professional experience as a high school junior/senior
Auto Shop (Lewis)
The smell of grease
The feel of dirt and grime
The sight of sweaty machine heads
And the sound of a pneumatic drill pounding your ears
These are some of the things I experience when I am at my internship.
The heat emitted from the engine as you search for the faulty component
The screeching of the hydraulic life balancing a car inches over your head
Then having dirt fall in your face when looking up into the car
Slipping on gear oil that has dripped onto the floor
These are some of the things I experience when I am at my internship.

Internship has been fun the past week. Two of the employees have been fired.
This week I learned how to pull a transmission. This is one of the most complicated tasks that can be done to a car. The estimated time to complete it is around seven hours. Skip told me that he had to do three this week.
This was one of the things that I was looking forward to learning with the internship class. I don't think that I could pull a transmission by myself, but I think I could if there was someone to help me.
