Earn professional experience as a high school junior/senior

I feel that my time spent in this class way very well spent and a great learning experience. Not to mention it gave me a job that I know I will have at least until I graduate high school. Through all my weeks and months I feel that this final reflection would be best spent by using quotes from all of my previous reflections. This will capture how I've felt this whole way through.

This was the best first week that I could have asked for; the girl that I worked with all week was very nice and helpful. Any worries that I had going into this are now gone because they treat me like one of the gang. I love my internship.

I reorganized the women's short sleeve and tank top shirts. What we do is organize everything by the colors that they are, then we go from light to dark of vice versa.

On Friday I got there and my boss still wasn't there, but he had called that day anticipating my arrival and left a note with instructions for me.

You know the annoying little paper tags that are attached to your clothes with a plastic tab? That's a tag, and so I got to use this nifty little thing that looked like a gun with a sharp point at the end. You put the paper tag on it, hold the tag to the gun, and shoot it into the right side of the garment and there you have it—a tag is born.

While Mrs. Hutson and I were talking about what I do there and the fact that I got offered a JOB, Mrs. Harrell was spinning around the store trying on shoes.

We put a security device on them using the tagging gun. We put the tag with the price and size and all that jazz on it, then we write the price on the tag on the inside of the item. After that we decide if this item should go on the floor or not. For example, now that we are getting ready for cold season, we would not put out a tank top, so we put it into a box which will come out next year.

On Saturday I got to learn how to use the cash register and computer which, by the way, is so complicated that I now have a new respect for anyone who knows how to do that. We have one of those touch screens and it's very complex.

So, the suggestion was made that we order Hungry Howies because they are cheap, fast, and close. We each chipped in $2 and got a medium cheese pizza. This was the highlight of my day and probably week; it's fun to eat behind the counter.

This program has helped me to come out of my shell and realize that there's more to people than appears. I was worried at first that all the college girls wouldn't be accepting of a junior in high school coming and taking their working time, but to my surprise, these girls have turned out to be the best big sisters anyone could ask for.

I'd like to quote an amazing writer, Shakespeare. 'Parting is such sweet sorrow.' I say this because I'm so sad that this wonderful thing that I've looked forward to on every Wednesday and Friday for months is almost gone from my life.

At first, I was counting down the days until the semester ended, but now I am saddened at the thought of not getting in my little red car and driving the 8 minute drive down Archer Road and interning for two hours twice a week.

So there you have it, from my mouth throughout the semester. I have loved my internship and everything that it has done for me. I would recommend it to anyone, and if my schedule would let me, I would take it again and again!
